Newlywed Desmond Tan 'Reveals' His Mystery Mrs Tan... Is His “Childhood Idol" Sharon Au
A surprising number of people were fooled by the fake out, according to Sharon.
In case you haven’t heard — Desmond Tan, 35, is happily married, and enjoying his honeymoon in France. And while we know more about his mysterious other half now — she’s his university sweetheart of 12 years and he’d actually proposed five years ago, the actor has not revealed her face yet.
Well, until last Saturday (Dec 18) that is.
On that day, Desmond posted a clip on his Instagram, where he hugs a woman whose back is facing the camera.
You know, kind of like that pic of Desmond and his wife that he posted to announce their marriage?
Same same but different?
But soon enough, the mystery lady turns back with a dramatic hair flip, only to reveal that she is… Sharon Au?
"THE REVEAL....... she's none other than…. My childhood idol [Sharon Au] (sic),” Desmond wrote in his caption.
He then goes on to thank Sharon, 46, who’s based in Paris, for "being a wonderful host”.
As it turns out, she invited the newlyweds to “one of the best restaurants in town” for a meal.
"Thank you sis for the beautiful wedding gift and memory! We love you to bits!” Desmond wrote.

A number of celebs were tickled by Desmond and Sharon’s fake reveal, with Chantalle Ng, Zhang Zetong and Rui En expressing their surprise on Desmond’s post.
It turns out that there were quite a lot of people who were fooled by Desmond’s fake out.
A day after Desmond’s post, Sharon took to her Instagram to reveal that people were actually congratulating her for tying the knot with Desmond. Say what?!
Nope, she's not Mrs Tan
"I received so many texts after Desmond’s huge REVEAL post on Instagram. Thank you for all the (confused) congratulatory messages, I am indeed the luckiest woman in the world. Lucky because I got to meet the real Mrs Tan!” she laughed.
Sharon went on to sing the praises of the new Mrs Tan, writing: "She is so beautiful and indeed Desmond, you cannot NOT (sic) marry this divine angel, who has been your pillar for more than a decade, way before you became one of Singapore’s most prominent, stylish and admired actors, when you were still scrawny and had shaggy hair. You two are the perfect golden couple and may God bless you through all the ups and downs, may you continue to be there for each other, no matter what life throws your way.”
"I felt like a proud mother celebrating the union of my son and his soulmate,” she mused, ending off her post by congratulating Desmond and his (real) wife, whose face still remains a mystery.
