Desmond Ng Wants Nick Teo & Hong Ling To Win Top 10 At SA2024 Just So He Can See Nick Cry

With Star Awards 2024 around the corner, we've been seeing our local celebs go all out to canvass for votes, not just for themselves but their pals as well.

Mediacorp actor Desmond Ng is no exception.

In a recent video shared on The Celebrity Agency's Instagram , the 36-year-old shared that if he could cast a 'magic vote' for someone to win a Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste award, he would choose to give it to his Fix My Life co-star Nick Teo.

"It's because I hope to see him cry on stage," he quipped.

This is Nick's second nomination for the category. He received his first nomination last year but went home empty-handed.

As for Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes, Desmond said he would give his 'magic vote' to Nick's wife Hong Ling.

"It's so that I can see Nick cry off stage," he laughed.

Just how badly do you want to see Nick cry, Desmond? Even Nick wants to know.

Reposting the video on his Instagram Stories, Nick joked: "This person is too much, he really wants to see me cry. Let's arrange a time and I'll cry for you in person!"

Jokes aside, Desmond also took the opportunity to canvass votes for himself.

"I've won Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes twice. The first time was in 2017. I just joined the industry then and was really surprised that I got the chance to go on stage," he recalled.

"Of course I was really happy and I brought the trophy to my mum's house to share the joy with everyone."

Desmond ended up waiting six years for his second Top 10 win in 2023.

"I was really touched and I hope I won't have to wait another six years for my next win," he chuckled.

Catch the Backstage LIVE event of Star Awards 2024 from 3.30pm - 10.30pm on mewatch or Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel on April 21 (Sunday).

The Walk Of Fame will be from 5pm - 6.30pm, on mewatch, Ch 8, Ch U, and Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel on the same day.

It will be followed by the Star Awards 2024 Live Show from 7pm - 10pm on mewatch, Ch 8, Ch U, and Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel.

The repeat telecast for the Walk of Fame and Award Ceremony will air on Ch 8 from 2pm - 6.30pm on April 28 (Sunday).
