Travel restrictions really, really suck, especially when it means that you’ll have to be separated from your loved ones, and miss out on milestones, celebrations, and more.
And we reckon things get just a little more lonely on festive occasions, when literally everyone’s meeting up with family and friends (in appropriate, law-abiding groups, of course).

But hey, there’s always some light to be found, even in the darkest situations, right?
Like how Mediacorp star Denise Camillia Tan managed to make exchanging ang pows with her family super cute and wholesome.
Denise, who is Malaysian, couldn’t make it across the Causeway to celebrate Chinese New Year with her family, who’s in Malaysia. Which is why the 28-year-old and her family exchanged their ang pows through a video call this year.
And yes, we know that e-ang pows are a thing now, but just look at the wide smiles on everyone’s faces!
"This year’s Chinese New Year will be a slightly different one for me as I won’t be able to celebrate with my family back home. I miss them dearly! Although we can’t meet in person, I’m still glad we are able to connect this way. I know I'm not alone though. To those who are on the same boat as me, let's make this a wonderful virtual CNY and call/video call our families!” Denise wrote in her caption.
After all, a reunion’s still a reunion, regardless of whether it's virtual or in-person, right?
