Minister Lawrence Wong said on July 26 that any loosened restrictions will be extended only to fully vaccinated individuals as they are better protected against the virus.
On July 26, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, who’s the co-chair of the multi-ministry COVID-19 task force, made a statement in Parliament announcing that Singapore might be able to “ease some of the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) measures” in mid-August. A welcome announcement for all F&B establishments and businesses, we’re sure.
However, there were some caveats. According to the minister, it will only be extended to fully vaccinated individuals who are much better protected against the effects of the virus.
“People who want to dine in at a restaurant or exercise in a gym will have to be fully vaccinated,” he said.
