We would be the first to admit that we never saw Holland V in this light.

Ask anyone about beautiful places in Singapore, and they will likely name attractions like Gardens By The Bay, Botanic Gardens, or Sentosa Beach.

However, for one Chinese woman living in Singapore, her choice might very well be Holland Village.

The neighbourhood is known for its cool eateries, chill nightlife, and lately, one super trendy pet-friendly mall.

But if we were to be honest, it isn’t the first place that comes to mind as one of Singapore's most scenic locations. We would even bravely say that it is already appropriately hyped.

A Chinese woman, who goes by the handle Suzzzzy on Xiaohongshu, shared a short video of Holland Village at night, along with this caption: "This place can’t be real! It simply looks like a simulation.”

She added: “Every time I visit Singapore’s Holland Village, I let out a sigh at how unreal it [looks]. Living here must really put one in a good mood. It really looks like a movie set, like the one in Toy Story!”

We have to give props to Suzzzzy for capturing Holland V in such a pretty manner. Who knew it looks that good at night?

Some Singapore seem to disagree with Suzzzzy's romanticising of Holland V.

One netizen wrote: “I’m here every day. I don’t feel anything special.”

To that Suzzzzy cheekily replied: “Maybe it’s because I live further from Holland V.”

However, she did agree with another comment that said: “The place does look nice, but the things there are also very expensive.”

With that said, it is nice to look at Holland Village through a non-local’s POV for a change. And maybe, the next time you visit the neighbourhood, you would gain a new appreciation for the things you see there.
