Chen Yixin & Gavin Teo Announce Breakup After 5 Years Together

Local stars Chen Yixin and Gavin Teo have broken up.

Last night (Feb 6), the 23-year-old actress and daughter of Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen, shared on Instagram that she and Gavin, 28, have decided to go separate ways after dating for five years. 

Yixin and Gavin, who only went public about their relationship in 2021, reportedly met on the set of the short musical film Rhythm of Our Youth in 2019. They then worked together on Mediacorp drama Teenage Textbook: The Series (2021). 

"This is a post I’d never thought I’d be making. After much reflection and deep respect for each other, Gavin & I have made the difficult decision to journey on different paths," wrote Yixin.

"Sharing this wasn’t easy, especially knowing that there were expectations about the future of our relationship once it became public. But I want this to be a safe space for us and I believe it’s important for me to be open and honest about this new journey with you all," she added.

Yixin also thanked everyone for the love and support they have recieved for the past five years, and said she hopes that people can "continue to support [them] as individuals as [they] navigate this next chapter".

Gavin, on the other hand, has not made any official statement about their split.
