Cha Eun Woo Is Picture Perfect In Person

Is there anyone more handsome, prettier or heartthrob-by than Cha Eun Woo? Don’t think so.

The 27-year-old actor-singer-walking-pheromone was in town last Saturday (Apr 13) for his Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator] fan concert. Before the gig, which his management promised would make anyone fall in love with the star within 10 minutes, he met 8days.sg and other local media for a quick 15 minutes.

That’s five minutes more than the required time it would take to fall for him, so we guess any form of resistance would be futile.

The Astro member showed up at the press conference, organised by Viu, at the Star Theatre dressed in an oversized midnight-blue sequined jacket. On anyone else the outfit would look like costume for a 70s-themed office party, but on Cha Eun Woo, it somehow made sense.

There’s just something about K-pop idols and their ability to make the most ridiculous looks work. Cha Eun Woo was right on time — 3pm and not a second late — and after greeting everyone, sat on a chair on the right of the stage. His right profile is his preferred profile, we were told. But let’s be honest, the dude has no bad side.

In commendable English, he said he got in the night before and the first thing he ate was “crabs”. He would later say he had chili crab and would want to have pepper crab today.

We had been asked to submit questions prior to the conference, in hope that Eun Woo’s management would pick them for him to answer.

All of our queries, two of which were: “If you were stuck in a mystery elevator with someone, who would you want it to be and where would want the elevator to take the two of you?” and “If you only had 10mins to spend in Singapore, where would you go?” were left unanswered.

He did, though, reveal what he would do if he had 10 minutes to spend anywhere in the world.

He pondered for a quick second, before smiling shyly and saying: "Since here is Singapore, I want to swim [in] Marina Bay [Sands]."

He does that a lot. No, not going to MBS but looking down and smiling to himself before tilting his head up bashfully. He could end wars with that look.
 

Eun Woo, whose drama Wonderful World aired its last episode on Saturday (he reminded everyone to go watch it), is known for his roles in True Beauty and My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.

In both shows, he played a cold and aloof rich kid who is the best-looking person in a 100-mile radius and then some.

We are often asked if a star looks the same in person as he does on screen. Cha Eun Woo, in the flesh, looks exactly the way he does on your TV, laptop or handphone screen. He doesn't need a filter or Photoshop or Meituxiuxiu. He is his own filter.

Another question the moderator asked was about what it was like on the set of his drama A Good Day To Be A Dog. The show is about a man with a fear of dogs falling in love with a woman who turns into a dog when she kisses someone.

One memorable scene saw him kissing a dog. To get the pooch to smooch him wasn’t as easy as one might think. He recalled: “As you know, dogs and puppies don’t follow directions well, so one thing we had to do to make him kiss my lip was actually to put a snack on my lips so that the dog would want to lick it.”

He later revealed that he’s a dog lover. “Actually in my home, my mum is taking care of a puppy called Dong Dong-ie. That’s how much I love puppies and I often go back home to see him”.

With his busy schedule, how does he take care of himself and ‘recharge’?

“I think I’m just like you guys. I love to eat delicious food. I like to visit pretty cafes, and eat delicious dessert. And meet the people I like and love, such as friends, and then take a good nap.”
