‘Boy’ Appears In Desmond Ng’s Ghibli-fied Wedding Pic; “It’s A Sign” They’re Having A Kid Soon, Says Friend

By now you would have seen the Studio Ghibli AI trend, which turns photos into Ghibli-style portraits, all over social media. But can it predict the future?

Mediacorp actor Desmond Ng and wife, actress-host Kanny Theng, who recently tied the knot, sure hope so.

Earlier this week, Desmond took to Instagram Story to repost a picture his friend shared of his wedding.

But here's the weird part.

Desmond’s friend had applied the popular AI filter to the group photo but when the Ghibli-style version was generated, there was an extra boy standing beside Kanny.

“It’s a sign,” joked their friend, suggesting that the couple might have a child soon.

When 8days.sg reached out to Desmond, he said that he was happy to see the AI photo, though he found it "quite funny and creepy too".

Kanny, on the other hand, responded to their friend, saying: “Baby girl, can?”

In a recent interview with JustSwipeLah, Desmond revealed that they plan to have one kid, though Kanny can't decide if she wants a boy or a girl.

When asked if her reaction to the photo meant she's decided on a girl, Desmond laughed: "Ya, but maybe tomorrow she’ll think having a boy is better."

Guess we’ll have to wait and see if the AI prediction turns out to be true.
