987FM’s Sonia Chew Revealed To Be Part Of Group Photo That Breached Safe Distancing Guidelines

It has been confirmed that 987FM DJ Sonia Chew was also part of the group photo with 13 people that was uploaded to social media in an apparent breach of COVID-19 safe distancing guidelines. Other artistes in the picture include: Terence Cao, Shane Pow, Julie Tan, Jeremy Chan, and Jeffrey Xu, who posted the pic on his Instagram Stories.

In an updated statement, Mediacorp said: “Earlier today, we have spoken to the three Mediacorp artistes – Terence Cao, Shane Pow and Jeffrey Xu – involved and we understand that this incident took place in October 2020. Upon further internal checks, we understand that a fourth Mediacorp artiste, Sonia Chew, was also there. We have similarly spoken to Sonia.”

“They deeply regret their actions. They would like to apologise for the mistake and assure everyone that this will not happen again. We take this matter seriously. Safety is a priority. We constantly brief and remind our artistes to adhere to safe management guidelines, both in their professional and personal capacities.”
