Our Top Pick: Kallang Lawn Bowl

Tucked beside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Kallang Lawn Bowl still flies under the radar despite being one of the best spots to watch the fireworks.

There is plenty of open grass to lay out a picnic mat, the view towards the Kallang Basin is fantastic, and because it's slightly removed from the main stadium exits, getting home afterwards is usually much less chaotic.

Honestly, we're surprised more people don't come here.

Stadium Riverside Walk

Want to get as close to the fireworks as possible without actually having an NDP ticket?

The promenade outside the National Stadium offers wide-open waterfront views, and if you're arriving early, you can also check out this year's illuminated "Go Beyond" installation before the show begins.

Hungry? Kallang Wave Mall is just around the corner.

From our experience, the food court is surprisingly efficient at getting meals out, probably because it's been conditioned by the endless stream of concertgoers passing through almost every weekend.

Let's just say if there's anywhere that's mastered the art of feeding hordes of hungry people in a hurry, it's probably here.

Tanjong Rhu Promenade & Lookout Tower

Located across the basin from the stadium, the lookout tower offers sweeping panoramic views of both the fireworks and the National Stadium.

If you're hoping for that Instagram-worthy shot, this is a solid choice.

Kallang Riverside Park

Coming with young children? This is probably one of the easiest places to spend the evening.

There's plenty of room for picnic mats, strollers and energetic kids who definitely aren't going to sit still for two hours.

The atmosphere also tends to be much more relaxed than directly outside the stadium.

Just outside Nicoll Highway MRT, this elevated viewing deck gives you a great angle across the Kallang Basin with Singapore's skyline in the background.
