When He Said She Cooks Better Than His Mum
Jeffrey: She shows her love in other ways. If she knows I’m coughing, she’ll search for the recipe for the luo han guo drink and make it for me. She also knows I like stir-fried tomato with scrambled eggs. It’s my mum’s signature dish. So she called my mum and learnt it from her. Now she cooks it even better than my mum!
Felicia: (Shakes her head) Please don’t say that!
Jeffrey: But it’s true!
When She Showed How Good A Girlfriend She Is
Felicia: Once, his parents were catching the 6am flight out of Singapore, and I knew that he would find it too emotional to send them off. But I didn’t want them to leave Singapore feeling empty. So a few friends and I went down to his place at 4am to send them off [at the airport]. I felt like I had to let his parents know that he’s okay now. That he has friends and they don’t have to be worried anymore.
When He Talked About How Much His Parents Like Her
Jeffrey: My parents were very happy to see her. My dad has never liked any of my past girlfriends. But somehow, he took an immediate liking to [Felicia]. Now when he calls, he’ll ask about her. He never asked about any of [my ex-es]. Last time, [the convos] were like, “Quarrelling again?” or “Your relationships always make me worried”. Now it’s “How’s Felicia?”
When She Remembered The Exact Moment She Knew She Loved Him
Felicia: I never thought I would date someone in showbiz. Or even someone younger. But somehow, I had a good feeling about him. He’s very sincere. On my birthday last year, my church friends prepared a steamboat dinner for me. They knew he liked me and so they were hinting that he might turn up. When I got there and I didn’t see him, I was disappointed. Then he appeared — I still remember that he was wearing a green long-sleeved sweater — and I felt so happy. So that was like a confirmation for me.
