Talk about a cosmic coincidence.
In the same week Christopher Nolan’s Inception is back in cinemas for its 10th anniversary, HBO Asia is dropping Dream Raider, the channel’s first original sci-fi series, which sounds a lot like Inception. (FYI: HBO and Warner Bros Pictures are part of WarnerMedia). What are the odds?
In Dream Raider, Weber Yang play a cop who teams up with Ellen Wu's neuroscientist to investigate a criminal conspiracy that exploits human consciousness. To uncover the truth so, they have to sneak into the victims’ dreams. So far so Inception.
Produced in Taiwan, the eight-part series also stars Jason Wang, David Wang, Vivian Hsu, Wi Ke-Xi, and Jun Kunimura.
To mark the launch of Dream Raider on Aug 16, the first episode will also be streamed on Facebook at 9pm, same time as its HBO and HBO Go premiere. Weber Yang, Jason Wang and Ellen Wu will be standing by to take questions from fans from 8.30pm. There’s also a Q&A session with them after the show at 10pm.
