Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Cast, Director Coming To Singapore For World Premiere At MBS

The upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will have its world premiere at Marina Bay Sands on May 27.

According to United International Pictures, the movie’s distributor, director Steven Caple Jr, producers Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian alongside actors Anthony Ramos (In the Heights), Dominique Fishback (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) and Tobe Nwigwe (Rap Sh!t) will walk the red carpet at a public fan event.  

“We have heard all about the amazing Transformers fans and this beautiful city that recently hosted Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal and I can’t wait to see what you have got in store for us,” says Fishback in a video greeting.

“It’s going to be the first premiere on a worldwide tour and we have everyone coming out,” adds Ramos. “Let’s make this an unforgettable premiere, Singapore.”

In March, Gardens by the Bay displayed two life-sized figures of Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, as part of the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Statues World Tour; Singapore was the first stop in the Asia leg.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set in the 1990s and introduces a new breed of Transformers — the Maximals — to the ongoing feud between the Autobots and Decepticons.

The vocal cast includes Peter Cullen (as Optimus Prime), Michelle Yeoh (as Airazor), Pete Davidson (as Mirage), Peter Dinklage (as Scourge), and Ron Perlman (as Optimus Primal).

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh live-action movie based on the popular Hasbro toy line. Michael Bay directed five of them — 2007’s Transformers, 2009’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, and 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight — while Travis Knight helmed 2018’s Bumblebee.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts opens in cinemas on June 8, with sneaks on June 7. Watch the trailer here:
