Top Gun: Maverick, A Quiet Place Part II Delayed To 2021

It's not an unexpected move.

Top Gun: Maverick, A Quiet Place Part II Delayed To 2021

Barely a few hours Disney took Mulan off its release schedule, two more Hollywood blockbusters have their roll-outs pushed back to 2021 amid spikes in COVID-19 in the US and key foreign markets.

A Quiet Place Part II, the Emily Blunt-starring creature feature, will now open on Apr 23, 2021 instead of September 4. The launch of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, is shifted from December 23 to July 2, 2021. (Just in time for the original's 35th anniversary!)

A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick were originally slated to open in Singapore on September 3 and Dec 23, respectively. An updated schedule will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, here are some of the major Hollywood releases to look out for in what's left of 2020: Scoob! (July 30), New Mutants (Aug 27), The Hunt (Sep 17), Wonder Woman: 1984 (Oct 1), Death on the Nile (Oct 8), Candyman (Oct 15), Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (Oct 15), Black Widow (Oct 29), Connected (Nov 5), Soul (Nov 19), Free Guy (Dec 10), Dune (Dec 17), and West Side Story (Dec 17).

Will they stay the course or blink? To be continued...
