Get ready for another trip to The Matrix!

The Matrix is heading back to the cinemas for a limited period in IMAX (first time!) and standard 2D from Dec 2, just before the arrival of the highly anticipated The Matrix Resurrections.

So if you’ve seen the bullet time on your mobile device/laptop, then here’s your chance to capture the cyber-thrills and gun-fu at the Shaw Theatres Lido (IMAX), The Projector (standard 2D) and WE Cinemas (standard 2D).

Released in March 1999, The Matrix, written and directed by Lana and Lily Wachowski, follows Neo (Keanu Reeves), a computer hacker who discovers that he's been living in a fake world and mankind has been enslaved by machine, and he is the key to winning a war that will decide the fate of humanity.

The film earned more than US$467 million (S$636 mil) worldwide and won four Oscars for Best Film Editing, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Sound. It was followed by the sequels, 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions

Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss will be reprising their characters in the fourth chapter in the saga, The Matrix Resurrections, slated to open in Singapore cinemas on Dec 22.  The movie also stars Yaha Abdul-Mateen (as a young Morpheus, a role previously played by Laurence Fishburne), Jessica Henwick, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson and Christina Ricci.
