Sia Says "Pathological Liar" Shia LaBeouf "Conned" Her Into Adulterous Relationship
The Australian singer-songwriter is speaking out about being “hurt emotionally” by Shia LaBeouf days after FKA twigs accused the actor of domestic abuse.
Sia has claimed Shia LaBeouf "conned" her into an adulterous relationship.
Following news of a domestic abuse lawsuit filed by FKA Twigs against ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, the Australian singer-songwriter, 44, has alleged the Transformers star is a "pathological liar" and lied to her about being single.
Sia wrote on Twitter: "I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single. I believe he's very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself — stay safe, stay away."
She also expressed support for FKA twigs in a follow-up tweet, writing “Also I love you,” alongside a link to The New York Times article detailing FKA twigs’ abuse claims. “This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you,” she added.
Sia's comments were made in support of FKA Twigs, who is currently suing Shia, 34, for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during the course of their brief relationship in 2019, claiming she was subjected to "relentless" abuse from him.
Following reports of her lawsuit, Twigs explained why she decided to come forward.
She wrote: "it may be surprising to you to learn that i was in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. it was hard for me to process too, during and after i never thought something like this would happen to me. which is why i have decided it’s important for me to talk about it and try to help people understand that when you are under the coercive control of an abuser or in an intimate partner violent relationship leaving doesn’t feel safe or achievable.
"i hope that by sharing my experience i can help others feel like they are not alone and shed some light on how those who are worried somebody they care about may be in an abusive relationship can help because it can be confusing and hard to know what to do. (sic)" — BANG
