Are you going to watch the Disney animated fantasy in a cinema or in your living room?
When Disney’s latest animated blockbuster Raya and the Last Dragon opens in cinemas this Fri (Mar 5) — with sneaks on Thursday — moviegoers also have the option of watching it from the comfort of their living room.
Starring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina, the action-fantasy — inspired by Southeast Asian cultures — will also bow on Disney+ via its premium video-on-demand service Premier Access from Friday, 4pm.
Disney+ will offer subscribers Premier Access to Raya and the Last Dragon for an additional fee of S$38.98 on DisneyPlus.com and in the Disney+ app on select platforms, including Apple and Google.
Once subscribers sign up for Premier Access with their Disney+ account, you will be able to watch the animated mayhem and chaos as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available.
Raya and the Last Dragon will be available on Disney+ in 4K/UHD, HDR, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on compatible devices — perfect for those with a souped-up home theatre set-up.
If you’re not in a hurry to watch the movie, you can wait till June 4 when it will be available to all Disney+ subscribers for no additional cost. Can you wait that long?
Disney first adopted its dual-release strategy last year with Mulan in the US and Europe where cinemas were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
