Oscars 2021: Bong Joon-Ho, Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford And More Among Presenters

"There's so much wattage here, sunglasses may be required," the show producers said in a statement.

Parasite director Bong Joon-Ho, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt and Joaquin Phoenix are among the first wave of presenters confirmed for the Oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled the A-listers set to present on the night on Monday (Apr 12).

The Oscars are set to take place on April 25 (Apr 26 in Singapore) from two locations, Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and the usual venue of The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parasite was the big winner at last year's Oscars, taking top honors for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature. It made history by becoming the first foreign-language movie to win the Best Picture trophy, while Bong is the first Korean filmmaker to receive the Best Director prize. (If Bong is presenting, will his interpreter Sharon Choi appear as well?)

Other presenters confirmed include Zendaya, Laura Dern, Regina King, Reese Witherspoon, Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, Bryan Cranston and Renee Zellweger.

Producers Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh said in a statement: "In keeping with our awards-show-as-a-movie approach, we've assembled a truly stellar cast of stars.

"There's so much wattage here, sunglasses may be required."

The Academy had originally warned the nominees that appearing via video link was "not an option". However, they've since relaxed this requirement and will have a number of hubs,

The Oscars will be simulcast live on meWATCH and Channel 5 on Monday (Apr 26), 6.30am (SGT), with the Red Carpet coverage (same-day encore on Channel 5, 6pm), followed by the main show at 8am (same-day encore on Channel 5,10.30pm).
