Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany Cast As She-Hulk In Disney+ Series
She's playing the Incredible Hulk's cousin, Jennifer.
Tatiana Maslany is heading back to the world of sci-fi.
According to Deadline, the 34-year-old Emmy-winning Canadian star of Orphan Black has landed the title role of the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk.
Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema in 1980, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. Jennifer inherits Bruce’s powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, Jennifer is able to retain her intelligence and personality when she Hulks out.
Shortly after the news broke, Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, tweeted, "Welcome to the family, cuz!"
She-Hulk is one of several Marvel live-action series in works. Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision are scheduled to debut on Disney+ later this year, followed by Loki in early 2021.
In other Marvel Studios casting news, Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors landed a key role in the third Ant-Man movie early this week. Speculation is rife that Majors will be playing Kang the Conqueror, a time-travelling super-villain. The Ant-Man three-quel stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly and will again be directed by Peyton Reed.
