Olivia Wilde Feuded With Shia LaBeouf Over Music Video After Firing Him From Her Movie

Olivia Wilde had a beef with Shia LaBeouf over the Rainsford music video, 'Love Me Like You Hate Me'.

It looks like there's more drama to Olivia Wilde’s feud with Shia LaBeouf than previously reported.

In December, word got out that Wilde fired LaBeouf from her new directorial feature Don’t Worry Darling — and replaced the troubled actor with her current beau Harry Styles — because of his poor behaviour in pre-production.

This wasn’t the first time the two clashed.

According to a story The Hollywood Reporter published on Wednesday (Jan 6), Wilde and LaBeouf didn’t see eye to eye on another project: Rainey Qualley’s NSFW music video ‘Love Me Like You Hate Me’, which featured LaBeouf and Rainey’s sister, Margaret. On-screen, LaBeouf and Margaret became a couple after making the music video but they have recently gone their separate ways.

When the video debuted on Oct 23, Rainey — who goes by Rainsford — in an Instagram post, gave “special thanks” to Wilde. Turns out the Booksmart helmer had shot the music video. Or, at least that was plan.

Apparently, Wilde — who took the gig as “a favour to the sisters” after working with Margaret on the short film Wake Up last year — wasn’t the only one directing the video. LaBeouf, too, wanted to get into the act by submitting his own version of the video that he worked on in partnership with producer and frequent LaBeouf collaborator Luke Turner.

“He sent the cut over on a group e-mail to which Wilde responded that she would be happy to take a look and would submit her cut shortly,” THR wrote. “The response apparently did not sit well with LaBeouf who responded again by suggesting that the correct response would have been to write thank you and that ‘we should go with this’ in reference to the one he submitted. Per a source who saw the e-mail, he also wrote: “Great jazz musicians know when not to play.”

Wilde reportedly then exited the project and replied, “I’m out,” after LaBeouf’s response. Her name no longer appears on the credits for the video, which credits Turner as the director.

The unpleasant business over ‘Love Me Like You Hate Me’ was exacerbated by LaBeouf’s firing from Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling. As reported by Variety, LaBeouf didn’t play well with others on that film during pre-production and Wilde removed him for violating her “no ass***** policy” on set.

LaBeouf is currently knee-deep in legal woes after his former girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, sued him for alleging sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotion distress.
