Nicholas Hoult eats "anything and everything".

Hoult, 32, plays a foodie in the new comedy-horror film The Menu, which also stars Ralph Fiennes and Ana Taylor-Joy. In real life, Hoult insists he isn't as choosy an eater as his onscreen alter-ego.

"I'm a trash can, I eat anything and everything," he told People. "[I'm] not picky at all."

He also shared with the outlet that he loves cooking. He claimed he can whip up "a Japanese sweet break and a cinnamon crunch loaf" in the same day.

"I do quite enjoy cooking when I'm not working," he said. "When I'm working, I just don't cook at all basically, and then when I get time off I like to putter around in the kitchen. I'm not very good, but I like to do it."

When it comes to cooking, Hoult said his four-year-old son, whom he shares with model Bryana Holly, is his biggest critic.

"You know what? You get honest, instant feedback from a four-year-old," he said. "He will turn straight around, and he's like, 'This isn't very good, dad.' But then when you do get it right and you cook something great, you get a big thumbs-up. It's a great age."

Hoult also revealed that he doesn't have a habit of taking pictures of his food, something his The Menu character does incessantly.

"Do you ever really look back at those (food) photos?" he asked. "It's like when people spend like 10 minutes recording at a concert, and you're like, 'Really? You're actually going to watch that whole thing back with the terrible sound on your phone?' Probably not, right?"
