Modern Family Co-Creator Shares Funny Story Of Larry King Finding His Lost Credit Card

No one likes it when they lose their credit cards, especially when they are on vacation.

This happened to Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan a few years ago but the incident had a happy ending — all thanks to one Larry King.

The legendary broadcaster died on Saturday (Jan 23) at the age of 87 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, after being treated for COVID-19 earlier this month.

Levitan, 58, paid tribute to King by sharing an amusing story about the time the iconic talk show host found his credit card while he was on holiday in Canada.

The multi-Emmy winner tweeted, “True story: I was spending a week in Canada on a lake with friends. One day after wakeboarding, I realized the ziplock bag with my Amex, drivers license and $100 in cash had flown out of the boat.”

And just when he’d given up hope of recovering his belongings, he received some unexpected good news. “We had no internet where I was staying, so I didn’t check into Twitter until several days later,” Levitan tweeted. “That’s when I saw a tweet from a guy that my credit card, cash and license had washed up on his shore. To my great surprise, that guy was Larry King!"

When the sitcom producer didn’t get back to King, the latter sent out a series of video reminders where the talk show host pretended to pay for pricey dinners around Canada with Levitan’s credit card.

“So a giant tip of the hat to @kingsthings. (And, yes, I got it all back when I returned home)," Levitan wrote.
