Minnie Driver Once Faked Orgasm To Get A Job: "It Was Grim"

Minnie Driver once faked an orgasm to get a job.

When asked by The Guardian about the most "embarrassing moment" of her career so far, the Good Will Hunting actress, 53, revealed it happened during the early days of her career. 

She said: "When I was starting out, in the early 90s, I had to fake an orgasm in a room full of male ad execs at an audition for a chocolate bar ad. It was grim!"

Driver previously recounted this incident in her 2022 memoir Managing Expectations. She said after walking out of the audition after her first attempt at faking esctacy, she wanted to warn the other actresses waiting in line what they were in for. 

She wrote: 'I wanted to tell them we were better than this, better than being lunchtime entertainment for a bunch of pervy execs, their perviness sanctioned by this being considered 'work'.'

"I thought about all the girls waiting outside. All of us vying for an opportunity that was actually humiliation dressed up in a pick-me! outfit. I wanted to run out there and warn them."

Elsewhere in The Guardian Q&A, when asked what she would change if she could edit her past, Driver said: "I’d edit out all the awful men I managed to find who confirmed my worst suspicions about my body and my character."

Driver is currently in a relationship with filmmaker Addison O'Dea and has previously dated the likes of film financier Ryan Kavanaugh, actor Matthew Felkner and TV and film producer Timothy J Lea. She and Lea share a 14-year-old son.

Elsewhere, Driver shared that she has a lifelong crush on Daniel Day-Lewis. 

"I have loved him since I was 12 years old. I watched him play in a football match at my school — and then walked him back to the changing rooms after, and he was so kind and he talked to me about acting.— BANG SHOWBIZ
