Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Steven Caple Jr, the director of the Transformers spin-off, broke the news on Instagram Tuesday (Oct 11) by sharing two different videos from recording sessions, one featuring the Everything Everywhere At All Once actress, the other, Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson.

According to the post, Yeoh is voicing Airazor, while Davidson does the voice of Mirage. In Transformers lore, Airazor is a member of the Maximals, which are the descendants of the Autobots. She can change into a falcon-like appearance.

Produced by Michael Bay, Rise of the Beasts also stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in live-action roles. The movie is slated for release in June 2023.

Yeoh is no stranger to voice acting: she previously did 2011’s Kung Fu Panda 2 and more recently, Minions: The Rise of Gru, and Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank.

News of Yeoh’s Transformers gig arrived a day after Kenneth Branagh revealed that the Malaysian actress is part of the ensemble cast of A Haunting in Venice, the third in the Hercule Poirot films based on Agatha Christie novels, following 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and 2022’s Death on the Nile.

The film, set to start production next month, also stars Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, and Riccardo Scamarico. Branagh will again pull a double shift as director and actor, with him playing Belgian sleuth Poirot.

Set in post-WWII Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, the film finds Poirot at a séance at a haunted palazzo where one of the guests is murdered. Guess who’s going to catch the killer(s)?

Yeoh will next be seen in the Netflix fantasy The School for Good and Evil (dropping Oct 19), Avatar: The Way of Water (in cinemas on Dec 15), and Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin (launching on Dec 25).

Yes, she’s everywhere.
