Michelle Yeoh’s Everything Everywhere All At Once Returns To Singapore Cinemas As Extended Cut From Aug 4

If you can’t get enough of the multiverse of madness that is Everything Everywhere All at Once, take note: it’s returning to cinemas on Thursday (Aug 4)  — as an extended cut!

The original theatrical cut of Everything Everywhere is 140 minutes; the extended cut features a new introduction from directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Daniels) and over eight minutes of outtakes after the end credits.

The looney sci-fi black comedy stars Michelle Yeoh a struggling laundromat owner who is being audited by the IRS. But that’s just the beginning of her troubles: she gets embroiled in a multiverse war (take that, Marvel!) that threatens to wipe out all of reality. The movie also stars Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Stephanie Hsu, Jenny Slate, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Launched in Singapore on March 24, Everything Everywhere ended its 130-day run with S$1.2 million, which is pretty respectable for an M18 title in limited release. Globally, the US$25 million (S$35 mil) indie production has earned close to US$100 million.  

The movie is universally well-received by critics, scoring a 95% average on Rotten Tomatoes, with Yeoh being singled out as a contender come awards season.  

The extended cut of Everything Everywhere will be shown at Cathay Cineplexes and The Projector.
