Marvel Teases Eternals First Look, Reveals Sequel Titles For Black Panther And Captain Marvel

The highly-anticipated Black Panther sequel now has an official title: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The follow-up, again with Ryan Coogler as director, is slated to drop in cinemas in the US on July 8, 2022. Marvel Studios shared this news Monday (May 3) in a three-minute video (narrated by the late Stan Lee) celebrating the theatrical experience and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Phase 4 line-up.

Back in black: Production on 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' is expected to begin soon. It's not known how the story will continue without Chadwick Boseman who died last August.

Other announcements include the title and release date for the sequel to the Brie Larson-led Captain Marvel called The Marvels, due Nov 11, 2022, and the release dates of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Feb 17, 2023) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 23, 2023).

Another highlight in the video: a first look at the Eternals, starring Angelina Jolie and Gemma Chan and directed by Nomadland’s Oscar-winning Chloe Zhao. The movie, about a race of alien immortals, also stars Kumail Nanjiani, Don Lee, Richard Madden and Salma Hayek. It opens Nov 5 in the US and Nov 4 in Singapore.

The salute-to-cinemas clip ends with the Fantastic Four logo but with neither date nor title revealed. So far we only Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Jon Watts is handling the reboot. Can this be the next big announcement from Marvel? Hmmm…
