Kevin Bacon has backed an appeal to save a pig who shares his name.
The Footloose star shared an appeal for an experienced keeper to take home a four-year-old Kunekune named Kevin Bacon, who is currently being cared for at a Scottish SPCA rehoming centre in Edinburgh as his previous owners couldn’t look after him.
Kevin took to Twitter to share a link to an article about his porky pal namesake, and wrote: “Help a fellow Kevin find a home?”

The Scottish SPCA then responded to the tweet, saying: “Thanks for sharing this, Kevin we will let you know when your namesake finds his home.”
And Kevin replied: “Nothing would make me happier. Thanks for working to find Kevin a forever home.”
The 62-year-old actor’s appeal comes after Dennis Quaid adopted a cat who shared his name, after he stumbled across the feline when it was rescued by the Lynchburg Humane Society in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In August, Dennis said: “It was really off the wall, but I just couldn’t resist. I had to. I’m out to save all the Dennis Quaids of the world.
“Maybe they should start naming animals in shelters after different celebrities and see who bites.”
And later that month, it was revealed Dennis is in talks to develop a non-scripted series about his journey to adopt the moggy, which will be called Saving Dennis Quaid.
Dennis will also turn the story into a companion podcast mini-series, after he recently co-founded the podcast company Audio Up Media alongside Canadian entrepreneur Jared Gutstadt.
In a statement, he said: “I’ve been lucky enough to be associated with the wonderful world of pets through my involvement in recent films. And while I’ve traditionally been more of a dog person, when I heard that ‘Dennis Quaid the Cat’ was in peril, I knew I had to act quick.
“It’s been amazing to see the public’s response to our little pet adoption, and during a difficult year for all of us, I’m glad it offered some levity and brightness. I’m very much looking forward to sharing kitty Quaid’s story with viewers and listeners in these new projects.”
