[Video] John Krasinski Reveals The Most Relaxing Day On The Set Of Jack Ryan Season 3

It’s official! John Krasinski is now the longest-serving Jack Ryan actor.

With the third season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Krasinski has played the eponymous CIA analyst-turned-field agent the most, beating his predecessors who have portrayed the character in a variety of movies — Alec Baldwin (1990’s The Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (1992’s Patriot Games, 1994’s Clear and Present Danger), Ben Affleck (2002’s The Sum of All Fears) and Chris Pine (2014’s Shadow Recruit).

Krasinski, who first played Ryan in 2018, will hang up his spurs after Season 4, which has already been filmed. But that’s another story for another time.

In Season 3 — dropped three years after Season 2 (yes, it’s a looong wait) — Ryan finds himself in a race against time to stop Russian hardliners bent on restoring the former glory of the Soviet Empire, by starting World War III. Just lovely.

Considering what’s happening in Ukraine, it’s eerie to watch the show where real-life current affairs has seemingly caught up with the unpleasant events in the reel world.

But Krasinski, 43, says the show’s prophetic narrative is purely coincidental. “We wrote the season about three years ago,” he says. “We wrapped this season, I think three months before any of the events took place in Ukraine. So, it’s feels a little bit like a Twilight Zone. It’s a very bizarre and surreal experience.”

Here, Krasinski and Michael Kelly, who reprises his role as ex-CIA officer Mike November, tell 8days.sg via Zoom from Sydney — where Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt is filming her new movie The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling — more about their time filming Season 3, especially when they were in Greece.
