Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, And More Beverly Hills, 90210 Stars React To Jessica Alba's 'No Eye Contact' Claim

Jason Priestley has insisted he never told Jessica Alba not to look at him whilst they were filming Beverly Hills, 90210.

Jessica recently claimed she was instructed not to make eye contact with any of the cast members of the hit show when she guest starred back in 1998, but Jason — who played Brandon Walsh — has now said he doesn’t know who would have told her not to look at anyone, as he insisted he “never would have made her feel” uncomfortable on set.

She guest-starred as Leanne, a teen mum who sought out Kelly (Jennie Garth) to help her at a clinic in a two-episode arc in Season 8.

Speaking to KiSS 92.5's The Roz & Mocha Show, he explained: "'Don't look at the stars of the show' was never an edict that came down on our show. I don't know who told Jessica Alba not to look at us. We never thought we were MC Hammer.

“I mean, apparently somebody did because they thought that maybe that was the thing to do. I don't know what Jessica Alba's experience was coming on our show as a guest star. I know that certainly … I never would have made her feel that way.”

Jason also claimed he “always went out of [his] way” to make the Beverly Hills, 90210 guest stars feel “incredibly welcomed”.

He added: "I always went out of my way to make sure that our guests always felt incredibly welcomed and I would always go and talk to them and make sure they knew this was a place where we wanted them to succeed.”

However, the actor doesn’t think he ever actually worked with Jessica, as he insisted he had “nothing to do with” the storyline she was involved in.

He said: “She was in a storyline that I had nothing to do with. I’m sorry that that happened to her. It seems really incongruous with everything else that happened on our show, so I don't know what her experience was.”

Jason isn't the only one addressing Jessica's 'no eye contact' claims.

Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders, said Jessica's claims surprised him. On Access Hollywood on Tuesday, he said, “I can’t for the life of me ever imagine a situation where any of the actors would say that. I’m not doubting that that was her experience. … If anybody said something, it must have been the second assistant director or whoever for whatever reason. It doesn’t even make sense.

"Acting is acting and reacting, you have to look at who you’re talking to. None of my castmates ever requested anything like that. How that was told to Jessica, it saddens me because it lessened the experience for her. It certainly didn’t slow her down in life, but it’s hard to hear that there was any negatively on the set. If I had known about that, I would have shot that down immediately.”

Brian Austin Green, who appeared as David Silver, in a reply to an Instagram user who asked about the 'no eye contact' rule, said, "First time I've ever heard that."

Elsewhere, Jennie Garth, in her 9021OMG podcast, said, “I had all the scenes with her. If anybody didn’t want to have their eyes looked into, it would’ve been me, but I don’t remember ‘cause I have the world’s worst memory."

Jessica, 39, made her allegations against the show last week, when she said she would be “thrown off set” if she made eye contact with any of the show’s main cast.

She claimed: “I couldn’t even make eye contact with any of the cast members, which was really strange when you’re like trying to do a scene with them. It was like, ‘You’re not allowed to make eye contact with any one of the cast members or you’ll be thrown off the set.’" — BANG
