It's been nearly three decades since Robert Englund walked on Elm Street as Freddy Krueger.

Jason Blum Claims He Could Get Robert Englund To Play Freddy Krueger One More Time: "I Can Get Anyone To Come Back"

Jason Blum says he “could make” Robert Englund play Freddy Krueger again.

The Insidious producer believes he could perusade the actor to reprise his role as the pizza-faced bogeyman with the razor-blade fingers for another instalment of A Nightmare on Elm Street  and all he has to do is ask.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Blum said: "I could make him come back. I can get anyone back.”

Blum said that if he could entice Ellen Burstyn to star in The Exorcist, his upcoming sequel/requel to the 1973 horror classic, he would have no problem luring Englund back on Elm Street.

"Ellen Burstyn was 87, and I got her back in The Exorcist," Blum said. And Englund is 75. "Yeah, 75  he's young!"

Lest not forget, Blum got hold of Jamie Lee Curtis to return as Laurie Strode in 2018's Halloween and its two sequels.

Between 1984 and 1994, Englund appeared in seven Elm Street movies as well as the TV series Freddy's Nightmares. In 2003, he starred in the crossover Freddy Vs Jason where Krueger takes on the ice-hockey mask-wearing killer from Friday the 13th series.

Englund recently made a cameo in the latest season of Netflix's Stranger Things, as Victor Creel, one of the victims of the resident big bad Vecna, a dream demon not unlike Krueger.

The latest Blumhouse scare-fest, The Black Phone, starring Ethan Hawke, opens in Singapore cinemas on July 14. The Exorcist is slated to be out next year.
