This is Henry Golding's Meme-Worthy Gangster Face In Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen

Ladies and gents, this is Henry Golding’s gangster face in one of the posters for the upcoming Guy Ritchie’s crime caper The Gentlemen.

If he’s supposed to be intimidating in the movie, the poster isn’t doing a good job of conveying that message. In fact, with his puckered lips and sunken cheeks, Golding's more Derek Zoolander than Tony Montana. It’s a mug that’ll inspire endless memes and haunt him for all eternity.

Blue steel: You don't want to mess with Henry Golding's lips.

Or maybe Golding is supposed to be jokey in The Gentlemen, which is Ritchie’s first crime flick since 2008’s RocknRolla, after spending a decade in the PG-sandbox with two Sherlock Holmes-es, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and the recent Aladdin.

The Gentlemen (formerly known as Toff Guys) stars Matthew McConaughey as an American expat who made his fortune from growing marijuana in London. When he decides to quit the weed business, he also sets off a turf war.

Besides Golding, the cast also includes Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant. Golding plays a gangster named Dry Eye and if you think the poster is funny, check out his machine gun-firing face in the trailer — cue to the 0:56 mark for the meme-worthy moment.

Golding will next be seen opposite Emilia Clarke in the Paul Feig festive dramedy Last Christmas, opening next Thursday (Nov 28). He’s currently filming Snake Eyes, the G.I. Joe spin-off based on the eponymous ninja commando.

Fire it up: Henry Golding discovers the joys of firing a machine gun in 'The Gentlemen'.

The Gentlemen opens in the US Jan 24, 2020; it hasn't found a Singapore distributor at time of writing. Last Christmas opens Nov 28.
