'Black Widow' will now be out on July 9, not April 29.

It looks like Black Widow fans have to wait a bit longer to catch it in the cinemas.

On Tuesday (Mar 23), Disney decided to play musical chairs with its slate yet again. This time, the US release date for Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, is moved down from May 7 to July 9.

On top of that, it will also debut on Disney+’s Premier Access on the same day. Cruella, Emma Stone’s 101 Dalmatians prequel, will adopt the same dual-release strategy on May 28.

In Singapore, Cruella and Black Widow will open in cinemas on May 27 and July 9, respectively. At time of writing, it’s not known if they will be released simultaneously on Disney+.

Raya and the Last Dragon was the first to be released here both in cinemas and on Premier Access, which comes with a S$39.98 rental fee.

Here are the other titles affected by the latest reshuffling:

/Luca

Pixar’s latest, a coming-of-age adventure, has been pulled from its Jun 17 release and will land on Disney+. In the US, it will launch exclusively on the streaming service without extra cost on Jun 18.

/Free Guy

Ryan Reynolds’ digital crossover actioner is pushed back from May 20 to Aug 12.

/Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Originally slated for July 8, Marvel Studios’ first Asian-led instalment will now bow on Sept 2. Since its cast confirmation in December, there's been little buzz — no first-look pictures, no poster, no trailer. Not a peep. Very troubling.

/The King’s Man

The Kingsman prequel, starring Ralph Fiennes, has abandoned its Aug 19 release date for Dec 23. Merry Christmas!

/Deep Water

The erotic thriller from Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction), starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, is no longer surfacing on Aug 12. Its US premiere is shifted to Jan 14, 2022; its Singapore release is undated.

/ Death on the Nile

The star-studded Agatha Christie adaptation, led by Kenneth Branagh, has moved out of its Sept 16 spot into a yet-to-be-decided date in 2022. In the US, it will be out on Feb 11, 2022. The studio probably needs more time to figure out the publicity campaign given star Armie Hammer’s PR woes.
