Disney+ Developing New Daredevil Series: Report
The Man Without Fear's previous series ran on Netflix from 2015 to 2018.
The Man Without Fear is set to return in another series.
Variety has learnt that Disney+ is developing a Daredevil series, with Matt Corman and Chris Ord — the duo behind the Piper Perablo-starring Covet Affairs — attached to write and executive produce.
But what the report doesn’t say is whether Charlie Cox will step into the shoes of the visually-impaired vigilante he played in the Netflix series over three seasons from 2015 to 2018.
Speculations of a new Daredevil series about The Man Without Fear have been rife since Cox and Vincent D’ Onofrio reprised their roles in the Marvel-Netflix show in recent Marvel projects.
Cox turned up as attorney Matt Murdock, the secret identity of Daredevil, in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, while D’ Onofrio revived Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin for Disney+’s Hawkeye series.
When asked about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cox cryptically told Radio Times in February, “I know something. I don't know much, but I know there will be something else." Maybe this Corman-Ord deal is that "something else" he was hinting at?
In March, all six of Netflix’s Marvel shows — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders — were added to the Disney+ library.
Neither Marvel Studios nor Disney+ commented on the Variety story.
If Daredevil does get the go-ahead, he won’t be the only legal eagle superhero in the MCU. Earlier this week, Disney+ dropped the trailer She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo, which is slated to launch Aug 17.
