Chris Hemsworth has finished filming Thor: Love and Thunder.
To mark the occasion, Hemsworth shared on Wednesday (June 2) a B&W photo of him — showing off his guns, of course — and the movie’s director and co-star Taika Waititi (dressed in a mo-cap suit as rock-bodied Kronan warrior Korg) from the set of the Marvel production, which started in Australia in January.
“That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate (sic),” Hemsworth, 37, wrote. He added, “The film is gonna be batshit crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!!” (sic)
We know little about the plot details except it will entail a storyline from a Marvel comic where Thor’s girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is imbued with Thor’s power. That, and it will also involve Valkryie (Tessa Thompson), Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and a new villain, Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale. Russell Crowe is in the movie as well, playing Zeus.

Other A-listers spotted on the set include Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth, Sam Neill and Melissa McCarthy. Leaked photos showed that Damon, Hemsworth and Neill are reprising their roles in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok as Asgardian actors playing versions of Loki, Thor and Odin. McCarthy is playing another Asgardian actor and her character will be portraying Ragnarok baddie Hela (first played by Cate Blanchett).
Hmmm, struggling Asgardian actors? That sounds like it could be made into a Disney+ series. Can you see it?
Thor: Love and Thunder opens in Singapore cinemas in May 2022.
