Rolling Stone Magazine Co-Founder’s Memoir Claims Angelina Jolie Was Behind Pictures That Exposed Her Affair With Brad Pitt
Remember those Us Weekly pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie vacationing in Kenya that exposed their affair? It appears that it was Jolie herself who tipped off the gossip rag of their whereabouts.
That’s according to Rolling Stone magazine co-founder Jann Wenner is his upcoming memoir, Like a Rolling Stone, out on Sept 13.
Pitt and Jolie were rumoured to be an item after working on the action flick Mr and Mrs Smith, but nothing had been confirmed.
Wenner, who once owned Us Weekly, writes that in 2005, a photographer that Us worked with got wind of Jolie holidaying at a resort on the coast of Africa with Pitt, who was then still married to Jennifer Aniston.
The photographer was not only told where the couple was staying but also the timing of their daily walk and where they could be “secretly” photographed.
“We got the photo, we got the proof,” Wenner writes (via PageSix), “we had the worldwide scoop, the debut of Brangelina. The tipster was Angelina.”
The Brangelina pics were published in April 2005, a month after Aniston filed for divorce from Pitt.
Pitt and Jolie were together for 12 years and got married in 2014 before their break-up in September 2016 following the infamous plane fight. They were declared legally single in April 2019, but are still embroiled in a lengthy custody battle over their minor children.
The former spouses share six children — Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and 14-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Beside Brangelina, Wenner’s memoir also includes juicy anecdotes about Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Bette Midler.
