Taiwanese Producer Zhou You, 84, Says She Would “Go Crazy” If She’s Apart From Her Husband, 74, For More Than 3 Days

Zhou You told Taiwanese media that she and her husband, 74-year-old Taiwanese director Li Chao Yung, were invited to be tourism ambassadors for Phuket, Thailand.

Of course, she is keen to go, but she shared that she will only do so after getting both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and expects to be able to travel there in late September.

There’s a problem, though: They would have to undergo 15 days of quarantine separately after returning to Taiwan, and she’s not keen on that at all ‘cos Zhou You said she can’t bear to be apart from her husband for more than three days.

“I hope [Taiwan health minister] Chen Shih-chung can understand that we are helping to promote diplomacy between the two countries, so it would be good if we are placed under observation for seven days like the Taiwanese Olympians,” she said.

“Actually,” she added. “Even seven days is too long. I will go crazy after seven days without my husband! Three days is still acceptable. Let us isolate ourselves at home after that. We can stay in different rooms.”

Um, we’re pretty sure it doesn’t work that way, especially since Phuket is currently experiencing a surge in COVID-19 infections.
