M’sian Actress Fined $305 For Eating Durian In Hotel Room
Truly the (sabo) King of Fruits.
Durians are a thorny subject in more ways than one, as Malaysian actress Yumi Wong, 33, recently found out.
The actress is currently in Penang shooting upcoming Hong Kong-Malaysian movie, Lock Up. The movie is produced by Louis Koo’s production company One Cool Film, and stars Hong Kong actors Benz Hui, 74, Raymond Wong, 47, Philip Keung, 56, and Samantha Ko, 37. Yumi is signed to One Cool Film as well.
But back to the durians.
Like many of us, Yumi gave in to temptation and indulged in a couple of durians one night in the comfort of her room, only to receive this message the very next day, which she then shared in an Instagram Story.
The conversation appeared to be between Yumi and a production crew member.
As it turns out, the hotel Yumi was staying in had imposed a RM1,000 (S$305) fine after discovering that Yumi had eaten durians in her room. And as proof, they even shared a picture of the durian seeds that Yumi had presumably thrown in the trash.
“I'm so stupid that I didn’t even know you can’t eat durians in the hotel… alright, I’ve been fined RM1,000 (S$305), this durian is so expensive…” Yumi lamented in a caption.
Ouch.
