New Twist in Yu Menglong Case: Rumours Surround Deaths of His Two Dogs

An alleged audio clip and talk of a “dark-web video” have fuelled fresh speculation over the late actor’s pets.

New Twist in Yu Menglong Case: Rumours Surround Deaths of His Two Dogs

Chinese actor Yu Menglong’s sudden death on September 11 has sparked speculations and controversies that have been nothing short of chilling

Initially ruled as an accidental fall, alleged reports have claimed there’s more to the case than what the authorities are telling the public. Several posts and discussions relating to the late actor have also been removed or banned on Weibo

The latest twist in Yu Menglong’s tragic case involves his two beloved dogs, who were rumoured to have died under mysterious circumstances even before his passing.

According to an alleged audio clip said to feature Menglong’s voice, a man can be heard tearfully calling out: “Fu Li… Huo Tui! We can no longer be together…”

The heartbreaking soundbite has left many netizens stunned and grief-stricken.

Fu Li, a Welsh Corgi, and Huo Tui, a French Bulldog, were Menglong’s cherished pets — he often referred to them as part of his family.

Rumours have since swirled that the pups’ deaths may not have been accidental. One netizen even claimed that a “full version” of the clip is circulating on the dark web, allegedly showing scenes of “brutal killings” involving the dogs.

Menglong’s close friend, screenwriter Wang Yuchen, has since stepped in to clarify the speculation. She denied the rumours, saying both dogs are alive and have been adopted.

“The dogs are doing well. I don’t know anything about the video, nor have I watched it,” she wrote — though she declined to reveal the identity of the new owners.

Her statement, however, did little to quell public suspicion. Many netizens remain unconvinced, questioning if things are really as straightforward as she suggests.

Online chatter has also claimed that these alleged “dark web videos” exist on foreign sites that require steep fees for access, with their supposed content described as “torture-killing games” too disturbing to watch.

As one commenter warned: “Don’t go looking for these videos. If they really exist, the scenes would be far too cruel.”
