Yoyo Chen Criticised For Ignoring Young Boy Who Asked Her For A Photo
Imagine leaving work and finding a swamp of people waiting for you outside.
While that may sound scary for us nobodies, it's pretty much the norm for celebrities.
Recently, a netizen took to her socials to share a clip of fans waiting for TVB actress Yoyo Chen outside a studio in Foshan, China, where she was filming her new Chinese drama One-twelfth.
From the clip, the 42-year-old star looked visibly shocked by the number of people waiting for her outside the studio.
The situation got so chaotic, the crew had to arrange for four security guards to escort Yoyo out.
Despite that, the actress took time to wave and greet her fans, and told them to not push one another. She also stopped to take photos and sign autographs for some of them.
Amidst the scrum was a young boy, who was heard asking politely: "Big sister, can I take a photo with you?".
To the surprise of many, all Yoyo did was glance at him before turning her head, leaving the kid looking very disappointed.
Of course, her behaviour gave netizens the opportunity to pick on her online.
"The kid was so polite, was it so hard for you to at least reply him? You didn't have to pretend you didn't hear him. Seriously putting on airs!" snarked one such netizen.
Fans, however, were quick to defend Yoyo.
"It's because someone passed her a pen from the other side so she got distracted," argued the fan, adding that Yoyo isn't obliged to entertain anyone.
"She's already considered very nice compared to many Chinese stars. Can you not be so mean [to her]?" they added.
