Yanxi Palace Star Xu Kai, 26, Reportedly Earns S$6K Per Minute For Every 20-Minute Public Appearance

He’s still raking in the big bucks as well, if a recent online report is to be believed.

According to a netizen who claims to be a director, Xu Kai charges 600,000 yuan (S$124,000) for a 20-minute appearance, which works out to be about 30,000 yuan (S$6,200) per minute.

We know what you’re thinking: This fella can make more money in 60 seconds than most folks do in a month. And all he has to do is stand there and look good for the cameras (okay, and maybe pose for a bunch of selfies).

However, there were some users who pointed out that after deducting the amount he has to set aside for taxes and his management company’s commission fees, Xu Kai doesn’t actually earn that much for himself in the end.

“How much of that 600,000 yuan really goes into his pocket?” questioned one netizen.

Well, we tried to do the math. Based on another netizen’s claim that taxes are 40 per cent of the amount earned and the management agency takes half, Xu Kai is estimated to bring home the remaining 10 per cent, which is 60,000 yuan (S$12,400).

Still awesome for just 20 minutes of work lah.
