Yang Mi Called Selfish For Hogging Umbrella & Leaving Assistant Out In The Rain

Chinese actress Yang Mi, 37, found herself in a social media storm after a video showing her hogging the umbrella while her assistant walked in the rain went viral.

In the video that's been circulating on Weibo, Yang Mi's assistant can be seen holding an umbrella for the star as she got out of the car.

Yang Mi then took the brolly from her assistant and walked towards the studio, leaving the latter to follow behind her in the rain.

Her inconsiderate actions sparked heated discussions online with many criticising her for being selfish.

"She's just mean," snarked one such netizen, while another said sarcastically: "How heartwarming."

However, some netizens came to the star's defense, arguing she has the right not to hold an umbrella for someone else.

"If your boss doesn't hold the umbrella for you, would you tell her off?," questioned one netizen.

Another commented: "The staff was simply doing her job, you can say [Yang Mi's] inconsiderate but you can't say she's mean, it's not like she was deliberately making things difficult for her assistant."
