Would You Stay At "The Worst Hotel In Japan" For Just S$9.60 A Night?
A hard no.
With Japan’s sky-high rates for accommodation, we can only imagine the glee one netizen had when he chanced upon the Sanwa Hotel in Kobe offering rooms for just 1,100 yen (S$ 9.60) a night.
A netizen who claimed to review hotels around the world took to the Internet to share his experience after chancing upon the ad for the cheap deal.
Initially thanking his lucky stars, his exhilaration soon turned into one of shock when he arrived at the address.

Looking like a scene out of a horror movie, the dimly lit hotel corridors looked sinisterly like an asylum.
There was also no mention if there was anyone to check them in?
Instead of locks (were you expecting an electronic key card at this point?) the doors were secured with cable ties and had to be cut open for entry. For real.
The tiny room opened up to a decaying sight with mould on the walls and yellowed magazines at the head of the tiny bunks.
A visit to the bathrooms proved the scariest of them all, with a foul smell apparently emitting from the stalls.
While most people will pass on such accommodation, the netizen behind the pictures still stayed the night and assured his followers that he experienced no hauntings during his stay.
A quick check online showed Google reviews describing the Sanwa Hotel as “The Worst Hotel In Japan” though there are still people who stay long term.
After pictures of the hotel were splashed online, netizens were repulsed by what they saw with many asking how they were still open for business.
“I refuse to believe the hotel isn’t haunted,” read one comment while another said, “Even if it isn’t ‘dirty’, it is really filthy! How does one stay here?”
However, at least one brave soul wrote, “For that price, why not? I am out doing touristy things most of the time.”
Very brave, indeed.
