Wilber Pan,43, Fat Shamed Again After Performing At CNY Concert
It seems some netizens decided to start their new year with meanness.
From post-wedding bliss to vacations to holiday feasting, these are all reasons anyone can be forgiven for gaining weight.
Anyone, but a celebrity it seems.
Taiwanese singer-rapper Wilber Pan, 43, was recently called out for looking out of shape when performing at a recent Lunar New Year concert in China.
He turned up in an all-black outfit ready with a disclaimer. “I have been on vacation for more than 10 days, but Chinese New Year is about to begin, so I will gain weight along the way.
Wilber and his wife, Luna Xuan were recently in Northern Europe for their honeymoon.
Videos of the performance soon made their rounds online, with many netizens leaving mean comments about Wilber’s figure.
“I almost didn’t recognise him!” exclaimed a netizen.
“How much fat have you gained?” wrote another while one asked that Wilber “wear a mask to cover [his] double chin,”
One comment even read, “Can he still zip his pants fully?”
Yikes. Not cool, people.
The online vitriol seems to have gotten to Wilber, who posted a picture on Instagram wearing a mask with the caption: “I dare not see anyone after my vacation.”
Wilber’s weight has been known to yo-yo over the years. He once tipped the scales at a high of 95kg in May 2022, before losing about 20kg two months later.
His figure was scrutinised during a recent live stream in which he was seen wearing an M-sized purple sweater.
A comment popped up saying Wilber looked like a ‘fat eggplant’, which had him responding, “Eh, who called me ‘fat eggplant’?”
