Want To Work As Selina Jen’s Assistant? The 1st Job Requirement Is To Sleep With Her

Sleeping with the boss is something that’s usually frowned upon, but what if it’s actually part of the job description? Oh, and we’re talking about just falling asleep together, not… the other thing. At least for this particular case.
On Monday (Oct 12), Taiwanese singer Selina Jen made an appearance on a radio show to promote her new single ‘All Year Round’ (or ‘Four Seasons’ in Chinese), which marks her musical comeback after a 17-month hiatus. The 38-year-old experienced every singer’s worst nightmare when she lost her voice for a year in 2018.
Thankfully, after going through a really rough and emotional patch, Selina's now able to look on the bright side of things. “My vocal range can’t go as high as before, but my middle and low notes are now very powerful!” she chirped optimistically. “No matter what season or situation you’re in, good or bad, you can face it with an open mind!”

However, there’s one ‘challenge’ that she’s still unable to overcome. According to Selina, ever since she made her showbiz debut as a part of S.H.E almost two decades ago, she has never slept alone and always feels the need to share a bed with someone, even when she’s overseas for a concert tour or event.
In the past, her bandmates Ella Chen and Hebe Tien used to take turns accompanying her into dreamland. However, as they got older and needed more of their own space, Selina would pick her assistants to be her bedfellows since she still doesn’t dare to go to sleep by herself.

She went on to admit that when she was looking for a new assistant this year, the very first job requirement was to “sleep with her”, and they are not allowed to refuse. Selina, who was married to lawyer Richard Chang for five years, explained that because not everyone is actually comfortable with sharing a bed, she wanted to put this unusual condition out there as clearly as possible.
While the radio DJ expressed our exact thoughts (“You have to sleep with the boss at night after working with them in the day? How stressful!”), many fans were actually very keen on the idea and expressed their interest in applying for the position. Um, let’s hope Selina knows how to filter out any creeps.
