Wang Leehom & David Tao Singing ‘Forever Love’ At A Wedding Has Netizens Rolling Their Eyes
We’re sure the irony is not lost on anyone here.
Last night (May 8), Taiwanese host Blackie Chen shared a video of Wang Leehom and David Tao on stage at a wedding along with this caption: “Two superstars are reunited after a long time. Singing Forever Love together.”
The trio were guests at a wedding and Leehom and David even did double duty, serenading the newlyweds with Leehom's hit song.
The banquet was star-studded, to say the least, with Dee Hsu and Kang Kang as the emcees and Ailing Tai and Chia Yeong Chieh among the guests.
While Leehom and David's performance was a total treat, and even ended with Leehom giving a tipsy-looking David a peck on his cheek, the irony of the two singing a song about everlasting love was not lost on netizens.
For those not in the know, Leehom and his ex-wife Lee Jinglei split up in 2021, with the latter accusing the singer of being a serial cheater. They went on to have one of the ugliest celeb divorces in history, with both sides engaging in very public mudslinging.
David, on the other hand, admitted to cheating on his wife, Taiwanese heiress Penny Jiang with artist manager Ada Yang Zi Qing in 2015.
He held a press conference apologising to his in-laws and Penny, and the couple have remained together, even becoming parents in 2019.
As one can imagine, netizens had plenty to say about the Leehom-David performance.
“Are you sure they’re sending their well-wishes?”, “Did they seek the bride's approval for this?”, and “How ironic is it that these two are singing Forever Love?” were just some of the comments making fun of the performance.
Then there was this comment: “What they’re singing about is expired love.”
