Vivian Hsu Says A Person Weighs 0.7kg Less In Singapore Than In Taiwan

Taiwanese star Vivian Hsu, 47, has been shuttling between Singapore and Taiwan (yes, even during the pandemic) ever since marrying businessman Sean Lee, who is based here.

Now, it would be normal for her to compare differences between the food, or public transport, or even the weather between the two countries but earlier this week, Vivian took to her IG to compare… how much she weighs!?

According to Vivian, she said she was told that one weighs 0.7kg lighter in Singapore than in Taiwan. 

The actress then posted a pic, presumably taken in Singapore, showing that she weighs 42.8kg.

She wrote: “So strictly speaking, I’m 43.5kg in Taiwan! So how heavy am I exactly? Which weight should I follow? I really want to know why [is this so]? Can someone explain this to me? Why?”

That question must really have been, um, weighing on her as she went on to write: “If it has something to do with science, please explain it to me clearly, because I’m really not the best in this area.”

And explain the situation to her was exactly what some netizens did.

According to Vivian’s very well-informed followers (and some quick fact-checking from our end), a person’s weight can vary slightly in different countries due to the fluctuations in gravitational pulls. Basically the lower the gravitational pull, the lesser you will weigh.

Some fans also pointed out their surprise at how Vivian, who is 1.61m tall, weighs less than 43kg (okay, at least in Singapore), ;leaving comments such as: “You’re too skinny” and “Why bother about the 0.7kg?”.
