Ex-TVB Star Vincent Wong Mocked For Cringey ‘Da Zhan Hong Tu’ & ‘Tiao Lou Ji’ Performances

Just as we were finally getting over the cringe-fest that was the former TVB actors live stream dance-off, Hong Kong actor Vincent Wong brought us right back there.

During his recent birthday concert in Guangzhou, the 42-year-old covered Chinese singer LBI’s ‘Jumping Machine’ aka 'Tiao Lou Ji".

The song is one of the most popular and catchiest songs of the year and notoriously difficult to sing. 

And of course the two-time TVB Best actor struggle with the higher notes, visibly straining to reach them, and switching to falsetto, which was all over the place.

Netizens were clearly not impressed with some saying Vincent’s singing sounded like a “shrimp being pulled apart” and that he was “running out of air”.

Harsh.

One even wrote, “Jumping Machine? More like Fall-To-Your-Death Machine”.

That was not the only Vincent performance that made us squirm.

He also danced to the huge-on-TikTok, super catchy earworm ‘Great Prospects’ aka 'Da Zhan Hong Tu' by Chinese artiste Skaiisyourgod.

However, Vincent's lanky frame made the exaggerated choreography more awkward than impressive.

He even tried to teach guest singer Hana Kuk some of the moves, much to her amusement.

Given that Vincent first debuted as a singer in 2006, you would have expected him to be more polished.

Guess like Taiwanese singer Christine Fan, he is also struggling to find his voice, literally, again.

However, fans of the actor defended him, many saying at least he had the guts to sing live.

Guess you do whatever needs to be done to bring in the dough, right?

Vincent left TVB in late 2023 after 17 years with the broadcaster and has been working mostly in China, even starting his own production house.
