Vicki Zhao Sparks Divorce Rumours After Deleting All Traces Of Her Husband From IG
Her work studio has since responded to the speculations.
Yet another relationship has come under scrutiny as a result of social media. Recently, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that 44-year-old Chinese actress Vicki Zhao has erased all traces of her husband Huang Youlong from Instagram, which lead to — what else? — divorce rumours.
Photos that are gone include a shot of Youlong and the couple’s 10-year-old daughter April on the streets of Prague, Czech Republic, as well as one of a bouquet of roses that Vicki received from him on Valentine’s Day. Basically, anything that has to do with the 43-year-old billionaire entrepreneur is no longer on her page.

In fact, the rumours started as early as March this year, when it was pointed out that Youlong did not post any dedications or ‘like’ any of Vicki’s posts for her 44th birthday. And we’ve all seen how the public can react when they find out someone has stopped double-tapping on their S.O.’s updates.
However, some fans came to Vicki’s defence and blamed others for starting baseless rumours. “Thanks to all the gossip surrounding her every day, she no longer shares any new posts,” they complained.

This is not the first time Vicki and Youlong have been accused of having marriage problems. Early last year, Chinese media outlets alleged that they had gone their separate ways, but Vicki responded by uploading a picture of flowers on February 14, as if indirectly confirming that all is well between them... which is awkward now ‘cos that’s one of the posts that’s been taken down.
This time, however, it was her work studio who spoke up on her behalf. On July 4, they shared this brief message on Weibo: “Chasing the wind and clutching at shadows [Ed: this basically means to make groundless accusations] is tiring. Gossip with caution. Work hard.”

Vicki and Youlong tied the knot in 2008 and went on to become one of the richest and most powerful couples in China thanks to their various business ventures and investments. However, rumour has it that Youlong has incurred a huge debt in recent years. He is currently embroiled in a financial dispute with Michelle Chua, the wife of former ATV executive James Shing, for over HK$200mil (about S$36mil).
