Wedding bells are set to ring for veteran Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei, 72, and his 36-year-old Chinese artist girlfriend Chris Wong.

Lung Kei recently shared in an interview that he and Chris, whom he has been dating for four years, will tie the knot this year... if things go as planned.

While he refers to Chris as his wife, Lung Kei revealed that they are not married.

“She said that if we want to get married, I have to first ask my prospective parents-in-law how much betrothal gifts they want,” he shared.

Lung Kei was supposed to go to China to meet the parents and ask for her hand in marriage, but his plans were foiled by the pandemic.

“If there are no hiccups, we will [wed] this year, but I will keep it low-key. I will not hold a wedding banquet, just call a few pals together for a simple meal,” he said.

Chris did not seem too pleased with the plans though, telling the reporter: “We’ll see!"

They are like a married couple already anyway

Lung Kei and Chris’ May-December relationship came under the spotlight in 2020 after he revealed that Chris had miscarried in her third trimester.

It was labelled “grandfather-granddaughter relationship” due to their 36-year age difference.

However, age is just a number for the couple. Lung Kei said that communication is not an issue, and certainly not in the sex department.

"If we are not coordinated, how can she handle it when she is so young?" he said.

“In the four years that we have been dating, we have not broken up," he added.

She has a penchant for art

According to reports, Lung Kei really dotes on Chris, who is younger than all three of his kids from his first marriage.

He reportedly has seven properties which he intends to transfer to Chris’ name, though he has not written his will yet.

"I still have the ability to make money. I can't bring the money with me into my coffin anyway,” he said.
