Once Called “The Ugliest Celeb Kid”, Daughter Of Taiwanese Actress Makes Her Runway Debut

More often than not, children of celebs are thrust into the spotlight. While some have been praised for being carbon copies of their attractive parents, others have sadly been mocked and shamed for lacking in the looks department.

One such case is the daughter of Taiwanese stars Zhang Ting and Lin Ruiyang. Their 16-year-old daughter, Lin Xi Tong, was once called “the ugliest celeb kid” by netizens. She had been the target of such harsh comments from a young age, with some saying she “did not inherit her parents’ good looks at all”.

In fact, when Xi Tong was only 11, Zhang Ting spoke up in retaliation to the mean chatter and said: “Everyone thinks she’s ugly, but I think she’s beautiful. It’s just that netizens can’t see her beauty.”

The actress also asked that people stop looking down on her young daughter.

Thankfully, it seems like Xi Tong did not let the criticism get to her.

She recently made her modelling debut at Beijing-born fashion brand AS Dalio’s Shanghai Fashion Week show, strutting down the runway with poise and confidence.

Proud of her daughter’s accomplishment, Zhang Ting wrote on social media: “[She’s] bravely trying out and experiencing new things in her youth. If you wait until the day you’re fully prepared to take a step forward in every single thing, that day might never come, so Mum really admires you! My daughter, Lin Xi Tong!”

Xi Tong told Chinese media: “I think everyone’s definition of beauty is different. I believe the most important thing is to be happy [with yourself].”

Responding to her haters, she added: “You guys don’t have to comment on my looks, I don’t count on my face to make a living.”
